We are excited to be hosting an event in September at our HQ in London that aims to address these issues.
It’s easy, when you’ve just been on a weekend retreat or a specialist course, to make that resolution to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life. It seems like a simple task when you’re meditating or sitting zen-like in a quiet room. Unfortunately this resolution often goes out of the window when faced with real life: messy, uncropped, unfiltered life from which there is no way of escaping to a peaceful quiet space, or even finding an hour in the day to set aside for yourself.
How to Practise Mindfulness with a Lot on Your Mind
The aim of the evening, which will consist of an interactive session with three experts, is to establish how to practise mindfulness as part of a busy, urban lifestyle. We hope that our speakers will be able to share some stories, tips and practical advice about four key areas of life which many people find stressful: money, sex, food and relationships.
- Our very own Justine Dawson will be one of the experts on our panel. With over a decade of experience in studying conscious sexuality and teaching orgasmic meditation, she has a wealth of knowledge about how to apply the principles of conscious awareness to your sex life.
- Joining Justine on the panel will be Malcolm Stern, an experienced psychotherapist who specialises in relationships and communication. You may be familiar with his work as the founder of the London One Year Group. We are delighted that he will be joining us for what we’re sure will be a fascinating discussion.
- Last but certainly not least is Alex Howard, a therapeutic coach whose award-winning clinic combines the diagnosis and treatment of ME/CFS with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) to improve this patients’ general wellbeing as well as their health. We are excited to hear his thoughts on how to practise mindfulness in the world of business and money.
We’d Love to See You There!
If you’re interested in learning how to practise mindfulness and incorporate the principles of conscious awareness in your day-to-day life, we would love to see you on Thursday 20 September. The event is free and open to all, whether you’re a dedicated mindfulness practitioner or a curious first-timer.
